Managing your Inventory is easy with the Import feature. Instead of inputting items, modifiers, and counts individually, you can import a CSV file to the Portal and items and modifiers will be uploaded and organized automatically according to the information contained in the uploaded CSV file. There are four types of imports: Items (Library), Physical Counts, Products Received, and Modifiers.
Types of Imports
The Library Import allows you to upload a file that contains Items, their cost and price, and other details to the Items Library. To learn how to import your Items, click here.
The Physical Count Import is used when you do a count of your current Inventory and input those numbers to a CSV. When you upload this file, the counts in the file will override whatever count for each item you currently have in the Portal, updating them all at once. Make sure the import file was created from a Physical Count export file. This ensures that the Item IDs in the file match up with those in the Portal. The Products Received Import is useful for when you receive a shipment of items to your business and you need to add the new stock items to the current amount of stock you have on hand. This type of import adds the amount of each Product received in the file to the quantity listed for each Product in the Portal. Make sure the import file was created from a Received Item export. This ensures that the Item IDs in the file match up with those in the Portal. To learn how to update Products Received, click here.
The Modifier Import allows you to quickly import a list of Modifiers for your items, as well as their cost and status. To learn how to import Modifiers, click here.
The Tasks Screen
Most imports can be done fairly quickly, however in the case you are uploading a large file, you can choose to run the import in the background so you can continue working in other parts of the Portal. You can also choose to do multiple imports at one time. All original import files, as well as in-progress imports, can be found on the Tasks Screen in the Portal.
To see the status of an import, simply click on Tasks in the Navigation Menu. The Tasks Screen has a table that lists all import jobs as well as some basic information about each job. To view more detailed information about a specific import, click on the Chart Icon to the left of the start time for that import to go to the Task Details Screen.
On the Task Details Screen, you can see detailed information about each import.
The Task ID is simply a numerical way to identify the import. This is useful when working with account management or support to determine which import needs to be looked at for troubleshooting.
This tells you for which Location an import was completed. This is especially useful if you have multiple business locations. For example, you could have more bikes added to the Inventory of one Location, so you want to complete a Products Received Import for that Location, without changing the Inventory counts at your other Locations.
The date and time that you submitted the file for import. You can submit a file for import while another file is being uploaded, but the new file will not start until the first file is finished. Thus the submitted time may be different than the start time.
If you cancel the import, the date and time of the cancellation will appear here.
The type of import completed (Library, Physical Count, Products Received, Modifier).
The employee who initiated the import.
The date and time the import began uploading.
If the import failed, the date and time of the failure will be listed here.
This states whether the import is Completed, In Progress, or Cancelled.
How long the import took to upload.
The date and time the import was completed successfully.
You can click Download Request Data to see the imported file. Clicking here will download a CSV file.
