mPOS – Getting Started

The Groovv mPOS App transforms any Apple/Android device into a complete checkout tool with diverse payment options, security features, and inventory management tools. This application allows you to process cash, credit card, gift and check transactions securely and manage product inventory from a built-in database.

All transactions, data, and orders are stored on  Level 1 PCI Compliant payment gateway. Paired with compatible card swipers and payment devices, the mPOS app accepts payments for any type of business.

This is an omni-channel payment solution that enables you to accept all types of payments.

What You’ll Need

Connecting Your Bluetooth Payment Device to Your Smartphone

Payment Device Setup

  1. Connect the Micro USB cable into the payment device’s Micro USB port and plug into an outlet.
  2. Press and hold down the power button power_button. When the screen displays “Welcome” the device is ready.
  3. Press and hold down the Bluetooth key Bluetooth_Button on the keypad until the screen displays “Enter Bluetooth Pairing Pin.” You are now ready to pair your payment device with your smartphone.

Bluetooth Settings on Your Smartphone
Before starting, ensure the Bluetooth setting on your smartphone is turned on and not currently paired with any other payment devices.

  1. Find your payment device on the list of available devices.
    The payment device’s Bluetooth ID is comprised of “MP200-” and the last 4 digits of the serial number, which can be found underneath the barcode on the back of the device. Select the device once it appears in the list on your smartphone.

    TIP: If your device does not appear, turn Bluetooth off and on again.

  2. Once you’ve selected the Bluetooth name, a 6-digit code will display on your smartphone. Enter this code on the payment device by using the keypad.
  3. Press the “Enter” Enter_Button button on the payment device: Your payment device will display “PIN SUCCESSFUL” and is now paired with your smartphone.
  1. Go to the App Store
  2. Search for Groovv mPOS App
  3. Tap on GET+ button, then tap on INSTALL.
  4. Go to your ‘Getting Started with Groovv’ email.
  5. Open the Groovv mPOS app on your smartphone.
  6. The first time you access the app, you will be prompted to enter the account username (found in the email) and the password you created.

    TIP: By now you should have activated your account through the activation link provided in the ‘Activate your merchant account’ email.

Forgot your Password?

  1. To reset your password, have your Merchant ID number on hand and ready
  2. Call our customer support line at (855) 379-9011
  3. Once the account is verified, simply request assistance with resetting the password for your mPOS account
  1. Open the mPOS app, go to the menu, select settings, then devices.
  2. Select “Castle” and return to the menu.
  3. Select settings, go to Quick Sale tab.
  4. If you need tip, select Tip.
  5. Select and enter your default tax rate.
  6. Set your payment types.
    • Credit Card
    • Cash
    • Check (ACH)
    • Customer Billing
    • Chip Reader (EMV) – enables EMV card payments
    • NFC/Contactless – enables NFC-enabled payments like Apple Pay / Android Pay
  7. Select settings, go to Itemized Orders tab.
  8. Repeat steps 4 -7.
  9. Create your custom receipts in Settings.
  10. Go to the main menu. You are now ready to take transactions.
  1. Open the mPOS app.
  2. Insert the Groovv Shuttle Reader into the smartphone phone jack.
  3. The app automatically recognizes reader.

    TIP: If a message does not confirm that the device is connected, check your iOS settings to make sure that all media volume is set to maximum and your audio is set to stereo.

  4. Go to the menu and select settings.
  5. Go to Quick Sale tab.
  6. If you need tip, select Tip.
  7. Select and enter your default tax rate.
  8. Set your payment types:
    • Credit Card
    • Cash
    • Check (ACH)
    • Customer Billing
    • Chip Reader (EMV) – enables EMV card payments
    • NFC/Contactless – enables NFC-enabled payments like Apple Pay / Android Pay
  1. Select settings, go to Itemized Orders tab.

  3. Download and install the app mposicon.
  4. Go to your “Getting Started with Groovv” email.
  5. Open the Groovv mPOS app on your smartphone.

  3. Under Devices, go to Swiper and click on “Do not use Swiper.”
  4. Select “MP200” from the list of available devices.
  5. Once you’ve selected the “MP200” go to the Terminal Configuration section of the General Tab, select “EMV” to accept EMV card payments.
  6. Now, turn on “Contactless” to accept NFC payment like Apple Pay and Android Pay.
  7. If you need tip, select Tip Adjust.
  8. Save your choices, select your back arrow on your Android device.
  9. Select Settings again, go to the Quick Payment tab
  10. In the Quick Payment tab, select “Prompt for Tip” if required.
  11. Enable “Prompt for Signature.”
  12. Select “Calculate Tax” and then enter your tax rate.
  13. Set your payment types.
  14. Save your choices, select your back arrow on your Android device.
  15. Select settings, go to Orders tab.
  16. Repeat steps 9-14.
  17. Save your choices, select your back arrow on your Android device.
  18. Create your custom receipts in Settings.
  19. To save your choices, select your back arrow on your Android device. This takes you to the main menu. You are now ready to take transactions.
  1. Open the mPOS app, select Settings.
  2. In Settings, go to the devices section on the General Tab.
  3. Under Devices, go to Swiper and select “Do not use Swiper.”
  4. Select “Paysaber Jack” from the list of available devices.
  5. If you need tip, select Tip Adjust.
  6. To save your choices, select your back arrow on your Android device.
  7. Select Settings again, go to the Quick Payment tab
  8. In the Quick Payment tab, select “Prompt for Tip” if required.
  9. Now, enable “Prompt for Signature.”
  10. Now, select “Calculate Tax” and then enter your tax rate.
  11. Set your payment types.
  12. To save your choices, select your back arrow on your Android device.
  13. Select settings, go to Orders tab.
  14. Repeat steps 8-12.
  15. Create your custom receipts in Settings.
  16. To save your choices, select your back arrow on your Android device. This takes you to the main menu. You are now ready to take transactions.
